We want to provide an update on COVID-19 within our community. On Friday, September 25th, we received the results of our bi-weekly testing of all health center residents and team members. We learned that four team members tested positive for the virus. By way of recap, we have nine total active team member cases of COVID-19, and all are self-isolating at home with the support of our human resources team.
There are no new resident cases of the virus. We have five total active resident cases of the virus, four are being cared for in the hospital, and one is self-isolating in their home.
As a reminder, we will continue to test all Health Center residents and team members bi-weekly for the foreseeable future to assist with early identification of COVID-19 in our community.
We understand that you have concerns about the current COVID-19 status in our community, and many of you have questions. Please know we continue in our commitment to protect the health and safety of our residents and team members. Our team continues to be proactive in mitigating the risk of further exposure to the virus within our community.
We highly encourage residents to only leave the community for essential needs like groceries or critical medical appointments. Residents and team members are also encouraged to practice social distancing, and we ask that you wear a mask or face covering when you interact with others in public settings. Continued attention to proper hand hygiene, including handwashing and the use of alcohol-based hand sanitizer, is essential to preventing the spread of the virus. As we have done throughout the last several weeks, we will regularly communicate updates about our efforts to maintain a safe and healthy community.
We appreciate your support and continued adherence to the protocols we have implemented to protect our residents and team members. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact The Waterford management team.
Thank you for your continued support.
